Commending the Suburban Christian Church.

WHEREAS, for 70 years, the Suburban Christian Church in Virginia Beach has provided its congregation with uplifting spiritual guidance, joyful occasions for worship and fellowship, and meaningful opportunities for charitable outreach; and
WHEREAS, founded in 1956, the Suburban Christian Church has been led over the years by a distinguished line of faith leaders, including its current senior pastor, C. Todd Haynes, who has been with the congregation since 2005, and several other staff members who have assisted the church for decades; and
WHEREAS, the Suburban Christian Church embodies the teachings of the Gospel through its service with various organizations and initiatives, including the Good News Club, Operation Christmas Child, and Project Lucas; and
WHEREAS, the Suburban Christian Church supports a number of missions and ministries to encourage its members to grow in their faith and to be a force for good in their community; and
WHEREAS, since 2011, the Suburban Christian Church has operated a regular food pantry to combat hunger and food insecurity in the community and to promote the health and well-being of individuals and families in need; and
WHEREAS, as a beacon of love, faith, and hope in Virginia Beach for the past 70 years, the Suburban Christian Church has made a profound and lasting impact on countless lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Suburban Christian Church hereby be commended for its legacy of service on the occasion of its 70th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Suburban Christian Church as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's contributions to Virginia Beach and the Commonwealth.
