Commending Eastland United Methodist Church.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 9, 2026
WHEREAS, in December 2025, Eastland United Methodist Church opened a Free Fridge and Pantry to provide access to nutritious food for residents of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County in need; and
WHEREAS, with the help of FXBG Free Fridge and Food Rescue, Eastland United Methodist Church installed an outdoor refrigerator and food pantry that are accessible 24/7 for families in need; and
WHEREAS, Eastland United Methodist Church is the first church in the area to establish such a program, which has received an outpouring of support and donations from not only the congregation, but members of the wider community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Eastland United Methodist Church hereby be commended for its work to address food insecurity and alleviate hunger in Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Eastland United Methodist Church as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the congregation's commitment to community service.
