WHEREAS, Sarah Vaughn, an English teacher and chair of the English Department at Caroline Middle School in Milford, was selected as the 2026 Caroline County Division Teacher of the Year by Caroline County Public Schools; and
WHEREAS, an experienced and versatile educator, Sarah Vaughn has inspired students as a high school teacher, middle school teacher, and literacy coach; before joining Caroline County Public Schools (CCPS), she worked for schools in New Hampshire, Vermont, and other communities in Virginia; and
WHEREAS, Sarah Vaughn is a passionate advocate for literacy, who embraced the 2026 Caroline Reads campaign by facilitating the creation of book clubs and supporting the CCPS summer reading program; and
WHEREAS, Sarah Vaughn promotes perseverance, curiosity, and global awareness, and her compassion and adaptability have enhanced her natural ability to connect with and support children from a wide range of diverse backgrounds; and
WHEREAS, Sarah Vaughn is deeply committed to ensuring that every child feels valued, respected, and supported; her instructional approach emphasizes engagement, confidence-building, and the creation of inclusive, welcoming learning environments; and
WHEREAS, Sarah Vaughn's passion for education, breadth of experience, and unwavering dedication to uplifting students reflect the mission and values of Caroline Middle School and Caroline County Public Schools; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Sarah Vaughn hereby be commended on the occasion of her selection as the 2026 Caroline County Division Teacher of the Year; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Sarah Vaughn as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her achievements in service to young people in the Commonwealth.
