WHEREAS, Cole Brady Martin, a student at Radford High School, won the Virginia High School League Class 2 state championship for wrestling in the 190-pound weight class at Virginia High School in Salem on February 21, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Cole Martin made history as a four-time state medalist and a two-time state champion; he finished his senior season with an undefeated 35–0 record and a career record of 144–14; and
WHEREAS, Cole Martin demonstrated extraordinary skill and dedication by achieving two technical superiority victories as he fought his way through the tournament bracket, and he achieved a clear and decisive victory in the championship match by pin fall in 38 seconds; and
WHEREAS, Cole Martin's work ethic and leadership as team captain motivated his fellow Radford High School Bobcats throughout the year, leading to six state qualifiers and three state medalists; and
WHEREAS, Cole Martin's accomplishments are the result of his hard work and determination, the leadership and guidance of his coaches and teachers, and the unwavering support of the entire Radford High School community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Cole Brady Martin hereby be commended for winning the 2026 Virginia High School League Class 2 state championship for wrestling in the 190-pound weight class; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Cole Brady Martin as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his achievements and best wishes for his continued success.
