Commending Boy Scout Troop 1344.

WHEREAS, Boy Scout Troop 1344, a Scouting America troop that is based at Cherry Run Elementary School in Burke and sponsored by the American Legion Post 176 in Springfield, celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2025; and
WHEREAS, over the years, Boy Scout Troop 1344 has consistently been awarded the Gold Level in Scouting America's Journey to Excellence program, which recognizes the highest level of troop quality across the country; and
WHEREAS, since its founding, Boy Scout Troop 1344 has helped dozens of young scouts reach their Eagle Scout status while enhancing the quality of life in the community through an array of service projects both throughout Northern Virginia and at camps and parklands across the region; and
WHEREAS, Boy Scout Troop 1344 places a high emphasis on leadership development and is proactive in nurturing the maturation of its scouts by instilling in them the values and ideals of Scouting America; and
WHEREAS, members of Boy Scout Troop 1344 have worked tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of others through their community service, including by serving with the Page Program at the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Boy Scout Troop 1344 are the result of the dedication and determination of its scouts, the leadership and guidance of its scoutmaster and adult volunteers, and the unwavering support of the Springfield community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Boy Scout Troop 1344 hereby be commended for its legacy of service on the occasion of its 20th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Clint Lamm, scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 1344, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the troop's efforts to raise the next generation's leaders and to make an impact in the Northern Virginia community.
