WHEREAS, Park View High School of Loudoun County Public Schools was selected as a 2025 National Elementary and Secondary Education Act Distinguished School by the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators for its success in closing student achievement gaps; and
WHEREAS, the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators works with programs across the country to ensure that schools have the support they need to provide disadvantaged students with a high-quality education, and Park View High School was recognized for its success in creating an environment where students believe in themselves and their ability to succeed; and
WHEREAS, in order to raise math test scores, Park View High School implemented Math Lab and Math Bootcamp programs and offered extended learning opportunities, co-taught classes, small-group instruction, and before-school and after-school academies, giving students multiple pathways for academic growth; and
WHEREAS, Park View High School saw significant progress in raising math test pass rates, including increases of 45 points for English learners, 44 points for Black students, 46 points for unhoused students, 32 points for Hispanic students, and 36 points for economically disadvantaged students; and
WHEREAS, Park View High School students have also made significant gains in science and reading test pass rates; and
WHEREAS, the designation of Park View High School as a 2025 National ESEA Distinguished School reflects the commitment of its faculty and staff, the leadership of its administrators, the resilience of its students, and the unwavering support of the Sterling community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Park View High School, a 2025 National ESEA Distinguished School, hereby be commended for closing student achievement gaps; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jason Jefferson, principal of Park View High School, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the school's achievements in promoting student success.
