WHEREAS, the Sandusky Middle School girls' basketball team of Lynchburg won the Seminole District championship on February 21, 2026, after going 3-0 in the district tournament; and
WHEREAS, the Sandusky Middle School Lady Spartans posted an
11-0
record in the 2025-2026 regular season, their first undefeated regular season since 2004, and sealed the Lynchburg city championship on February 18, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the Sandusky Lady Spartans achieved victory through a total team effort, led by eighth-grade starters Mariah Weeks, Symphony Green, and team captain Bella Williams, as well as sixth-grader Reign Jackson, who was named the district tournament most valuable player; and
WHEREAS, during their extraordinary season, the Sandusky Lady Spartans played unselfishly and with finesse, established an unbreakable sisterhood bond, demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, and upheld the long-standing tradition of excellence set by student-athletes before them at Sandusky Middle School; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Sandusky Lady Spartans are the result of the teamwork and dedication of the student-athletes; the leadership and guidance of their coaches, including Vincent Lafalgio, KJ Bryant, Kaadia Preston, Jeff Jackson, and Secily Baker, and their team managers, including Zendaya Scott, Aubreigh Hamlett, and Kenzie Barbato; and the unwavering support of their families and the entire Sandusky Middle School community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Sandusky Middle School girls' basketball team hereby be commended for winning the 2026 Seminole District championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Sandusky Middle School girls' basketball team as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's achievement and best wishes for the program's continued success.
