WHEREAS, in 2026, Bee Boisseau, an acclaimed musician, recording artist, producer, and music executive with strong roots in the Commonwealth, won a Grammy Award in the Best Spoken Word Poetry Album category for his work as a project manager and producer on the album
Words for Days, Vol. 1
by Mad Skillz; and
WHEREAS, Bee Boisseau, also known by his stage name Bee Boy$oul or Bee Boi, grew up in Richmond, where he attended public schools and began to develop his musical identity against the backdrop of the city's rich cultural landscape; he subsequently attended Norfolk State University, where he deepened his understanding of music theory, performance, and the cultural lineage of Black music; and
WHEREAS, Bee Boisseau began his career as a working musician and toured and recorded with numerous artists as a keyboardist; he developed a reputation for musical precision and a soulful touch on the keys that bridged the gap between classic and contemporary sounds; and
WHEREAS, as a producer and independent artist, Bee Boisseau has released a series of genre-bending instrumental projects that merge hip hop and rhythm and blues with jazz and soul; and
WHEREAS, Bee Boisseau currently serves as a senior executive with the SoNo Recording Group and the Independent Label Services Group, an independent label that partners with the Universal Music Group for global distribution; and
WHEREAS, Bee Boisseau plays an important role in talent scouting, artist development, and label growth; his creative instincts and market insights have helped him not only identify rising artists but also nurture their talents and help them achieve their fullest potential; and
WHEREAS, Bee Boisseau has earned admiration as both a musician who understands the business and an executive who respects the art, and his commitment to cultural stewardship has helped bridge divides between generations, genres, and vision for the future of the music industry; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Bee Boisseau hereby be commended on winning a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Poetry Album at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2026; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Bee Boisseau as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his professional achievements and work to honor tradition, drive innovation, and shape the evolving sound of Black music.
