Commending Shen Yun Performing Arts.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 2, 2026
WHEREAS, Shen Yun Performing Arts, one of the world's premier classical Chinese dance and music companies, is returning to the Commonwealth for its 2026 tour, which coincides with the 20th anniversary of the troupe's founding; and
WHEREAS, Shen Yun's mission of cultural renewal revives the best of China's majestic, 5,000-year-old culture before communism and takes audience members on an unforgettable journey that conveys a universal message of goodness and hope; and
WHEREAS, Shen Yun combines the profound inner wisdom and elegance of classical Chinese dance with the beauty of authentic costumes and groundbreaking music, seamlessly combining the best of Eastern and Western aesthetics; and
WHEREAS, the unique classical, ethnic, and folk dances of Shen Yun transcend the modern stage and bring the glory of ancient myths, legends, and Chinese heroes to life, not only entertaining audiences, but also educating, enriching, and inspiring them; and
WHEREAS, there has been an overwhelming and positive response to Shen Yun around the world in its presentation of traditional Chinese culture as it was meant to be, a study in grace, fluidity, inner strength, and positive virtue; and
WHEREAS, Shen Yun artists have demonstrated courage, strength, and steadfastness in the face of harassment, vandalism, and threats of violence that have attempted to intimidate them and prevent them from performing; and
WHEREAS, Shen Yun has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to showcasing the beauty, grace, and depth of traditional Chinese culture and its power to unite people, enrich lives, and inspire future generations; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Shen Yun Performing Arts hereby be commended on the occasion of its 20th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to representatives of Shen Yun Performing Arts as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the company's contributions to the Commonwealth and best wishes for its continued success.
