WHEREAS, Joel Cannaday has devoted more than 25 years of service to Henry County as an election worker, precinct chief, and most recently as chair of the Henry County Electoral Board; and
WHEREAS, throughout his years of service, Joel Cannaday demonstrated a strong commitment to the democratic process, ensuring that elections in Henry County were conducted fairly, accurately, and in accordance with state and local laws; and
WHEREAS, as chair of the Henry County Electoral Board, Joel Cannaday played a vital role in maintaining public confidence in elections by safeguarding the integrity, transparency, and accessibility of the electoral process; and
WHEREAS, over the course of his career in public service, Joel Cannaday demonstrated careful attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to ensuring the good and efficient functioning of representative government; and
WHEREAS, Joel Cannaday's years of service reflect the values of civic responsibility, integrity, and dedication to service that strengthen local government and the Commonwealth as a whole; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Joel Cannaday hereby be commended on the occasion of his retirement as chair of the Henry County Electoral Board; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Joel Cannaday as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his contributions to the electoral process and achievements in service to the Henry County community and the Commonwealth.
