WHEREAS, Joe Bryant faithfully served the citizens of Henry County as the Collinsville District representative on the Henry County Board of Supervisors from 2010 through the conclusion of his term in December 2025, providing dedicated leadership and public service to the community; and
WHEREAS, throughout his tenure, which included multiple terms as vice chair, Joe Bryant worked collaboratively with fellow board members, staff, and regional partners to ensure the responsible conduct of county business and the continued progress of Henry County; and
WHEREAS, Joe Bryant was a strong advocate for economic development and job creation, supporting the growth of the Patriot Centre and Commonwealth Crossing Business Centre, the recruitment and expansion of major employers, and the diversification of the county's industrial base; and
WHEREAS, Joe Bryant championed important community investments within the Collinsville District and surrounding areas, including long-term efforts to advance housing initiatives in Villa Heights, facilitate the transition of the Halifax Apartments to new ownership, extend critical water and sewer infrastructure, and support the creation of workforce housing opportunities; and
WHEREAS, Joe Bryant supported significant improvements in public safety, education, and infrastructure, while also promoting quality of life projects, such as the continued expansion of the Dick and Willie Trail, development of the Philpott Marina, and ongoing enhancements to the Smith River Sports Complex; and
WHEREAS, a longtime volunteer emergency medical technician and Fieldale-Collinsville Volunteer Rescue Squad board member, Joe Bryant consistently emphasized the importance of volunteerism, transparency in government, and maintaining open communication with the residents he served; and
WHEREAS, through both his public service and his lifelong work with Bryant Radio Supply, Inc., Joe Bryant has demonstrated a deep and lasting commitment to the Collinsville District and to Henry County as a whole; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Joe Bryant hereby be commended for his outstanding service as a member of the Henry County Board of Supervisors; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Joe Bryant as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his legacy of contributions to the residents of Henry County and best wishes on future endeavors.
