WHEREAS, the John Marshall High School boys' basketball team of Richmond won the Virginia High School League Class 2 state championship at Virginia Commonwealth University's Stuart C. Siegel Center in Richmond on March 13, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the John Marshall High School Justices defeated the Graham High School G-Men of Tazewell County by a score of 107–81, becoming the first team in Virginia High School League (VHSL) history to score 100 points in the state championship; and
WHEREAS, the John Marshall Justices' victory secured the program's fourth consecutive state championship title and head coach Tytrail White's seventh with Richmond Public Schools; and
WHEREAS, throughout their successful 2024–2025 campaign, the John Marshall Justices demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship and discipline, bringing great pride to the John Marshall High School community; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of their brilliance on the court, several members of the John Marshall Justices received All-State and All-Region honors, including Latrell Allmond, 1st team All-State, 1st team All-Region, and VHSL Region 2A Player of the Year; Aiden Agrabright and Troy Henderson, 1st team All-State and 1st team All-Region; Desmon Rose and LaDarius Givan, 1st team All-Region; and Isaiah Carter and Cameron Claiborne, 2nd team All-Region; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the John Marshall Justices are the result of the dedication, teamwork, and perseverance of the student-athletes, the leadership and commitment to excellence of their coaches and teachers, and the steadfast support of their families and the entire John Marshall High School community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the John Marshall High School boys' basketball team hereby be commended for winning the 2025 Virginia High School League Class 2 state championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Tytrail White, head coach of the John Marshall High School boys' basketball team, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's achievements and best wishes for the program's continued success.
