WHEREAS, Prestar Packaging, an innovative packaging manufacturer based in Christiansburg, took home the top honor in the 2025 Virginia Manufacturing Cup by winning Best in Show and being named The Coolest Thing Made in Virginia for its Pop-Up Gift Card Box, a flagship customizable product that opens to reveal a gift card in a creative pop-up insert; and
WHEREAS, the Pop-Up Gift Card Box was developed through Prestar Packaging's Creative Carding division, which designs unique, patented gift card packaging solutions that merge functional engineering with visually compelling presentation to enhance brand experience and customer engagement; and
WHEREAS, Prestar Packaging and Creative Carding produce a wide range of rigid setup boxes, gift card boxes, and premium paperboard packaging, all of which are made in the United States, 100 percent recyclable, compostable, and manufactured using post-consumer paper materials, demonstrating the company's commitment to environmentally responsible production; and
WHEREAS, Prestar Packaging has grown to become the largest manufacturer of gift card packaging in the United States, a testament to its leadership in design, quality, and domestic production; and
WHEREAS, Prestar Packaging's gift card boxes and folders have become so popular that the company now ships its products to 17 countries around the globe, extending the reach of Virginia-made craftsmanship to international markets; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Manufacturing Cup is an annual competition hosted by the Virginia Manufacturers Association that recognizes hard work and ingenuity within the Commonwealth's manufacturing sector across nine industry categories, drawing more than 100 nominations, 89 competitors, and over 47,000 public votes in 2025; and
WHEREAS, the 2025 Virginia Manufacturing Cup featured outstanding finalists across multiple industry sectors, and Prestar Packaging emerged as the competition's top honoree following thousands of votes cast by the public as part of this statewide celebration of Virginia-made products; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Prestar Packaging hereby be commended on its achievement in winning the 2025 Virginia Manufacturing Cup Best in Show award; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Prestar Packaging as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for its excellence in manufacturing.
