Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 13, 2026
WHEREAS, Eric Monte Bowman, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and a beloved member of the Charles City County community, died on June 4, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Monte Bowman dedicated several years of his career to what was formerly Kraft Nabisco, where he earned the respect of his colleagues through his integrity, work ethic, and commitment to excellence; and
WHEREAS, Monte Bowman never hesitated to help a family member or friend in need, and his quiet strength and warm, personable demeanor endeared him to all who knew him; and
WHEREAS, Monte Bowman enjoyed being outdoors and was happiest of all when spending quality time with family and loved ones; and
WHEREAS, Monte Bowman will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Irene; his daughters, Sherri and Erica, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Eric Monte Bowman, a cherished member of the Charles City County community whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Eric Monte Bowman as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
