WHEREAS, Chris Scott, head coach of the Oscar F. Smith High School football team, was selected as the 2025 Virginia High School League Class 6 Coach of the Year, after leading his program to its second consecutive state championship title; and
WHEREAS, Chris Scott's squad defeated North Stafford High School by a score of 44–0 to secure the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Class 6 state championship in 2025 and edged James Madison High School by a score of 21–20 to win the state championship title the year prior; and
WHEREAS, Chris Scott joined the Oscar Smith High School football team as head coach in 2019 and subsequently won VHSL state championships in 2020 and 2021, cementing the program as one of the most accomplished units in the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Chris Scott has been a generous and supportive mentor to his players, empowering them to work hard for their dreams while nurturing their growth and well-being both on and off the field; and
WHEREAS, Chris Scott was also named as the VHSL Class 6 Coach of the Year in 2024, demonstrating his impact as a coach over the past two seasons; and

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Chris Scott hereby be commended for winning back-to-back Virginia High School League Class 6 state championship titles with the Oscar F. Smith High School football team and being selected as the 2025 Class 6 Coach of the Year; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Chris Scott as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his achievements and best wishes for his continued success.
