Commending Travis Johnson.
WHEREAS, Travis Johnson of Chesapeake, a wide receiver on the Oscar Smith High School football team, was selected as the Virginia High School League Class 6 Offensive Player of the Year; and
WHEREAS, a first-team all-state selection for the second consecutive year, Travis Johnson caught 56 passes for 1,157 yards and 15 touchdowns over the course of his senior season in 2025; and
WHEREAS, in December 2025, Travis Johnson helped lead the Oscar Smith High School Tigers to a 44–0 victory over the North Stafford High School Wolverines, securing the team's second consecutive state championship title; and
WHEREAS, in the state final, Travis Johnson caught three passes for 68 yards, including 58 yards after the catch, and two touchdowns; and
WHEREAS, Travis Johnson has earned national recognition for his abilities and plans to continue playing football at the University of Michigan; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Travis Johnson hereby be commended on the occasion of his selection as the Virginia High School League Class 6 Offensive Player of the Year; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Travis Johnson as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his athletic achievements and best wishes in his future endeavors.
