Celebrating the life of John W. Graham.

WHEREAS, John W. Graham, an honorable veteran, accomplished welder and tradesman, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and beloved member of the Virginia Beach community, died on May 22, 2025; and

WHEREAS, John Graham served his country with honor and distinction for 22 years in the United States Navy, including during the Vietnam War, and he retired as hull maintenance technician 1st class; and

WHEREAS, following his service, John Graham continued to work as a master welder for more than two decades with a number of shipbuilding and repair companies around the world; and

WHEREAS, in retirement, John Graham served his community at Glenwood Elementary School, bringing joy, encouragement, and support to the school's students and faculty; and

WHEREAS, John Graham could reliably be found manning the grill at holiday gatherings and barbecues, and he was happiest of all when making cherished memories with family and loved ones; and

WHEREAS, John Graham will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of nearly 60 years, Martha; his daughter, Kim, and her family; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of John W. Graham, whose quiet strength, boundless kindness, and unwavering wisdom inspired all who knew him; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of John W. Graham as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
