Commending the Healing Station.

WHEREAS, the Healing Station, a nonprofit counseling center in Fredericksburg, provides accessible mental health services to individuals and families, ensuring that no member of the community suffers in silence due to financial limitations or lack of resources; and
WHEREAS, recognizing that emotional wellness is essential to overall health, the Healing Station was established in 2022 to overcome the many barriers that prevent uninsured, underinsured, or low-income individuals from receiving quality behavioral and mental health care; and
WHEREAS, the staff of the Healing Station have served the community with compassion, professionalism, and integrity, helping numerous individuals and families receive support, restore stability in their lives, and experience healing; and
WHEREAS, in addition to its life-changing outpatient counseling services, the Healing Station also launched the Clinical Training Program, a workforce development initiative that supports emerging counseling professionals through internship opportunities and assistance with licensure; and
WHEREAS, by investing in the next generation of mental health professionals, the Healing Station hopes to strengthen the counseling workforce in Fredericksburg and expand options for care in surrounding communities; and
WHEREAS, among many awards and accolades, the Healing Station has received the Emerging Business Award and the Laurie Wideman Enterprising Woman's Award from the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Social Impact Award from the Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce, and the Community Service Award from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the Healing Station has fulfilled its mission through the hard work of its leadership, staff, and volunteers and generous support from other local organizations and community partners; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Healing Station hereby be commended for its vital work to provide affordable, accessible mental health services to the residents of Fredericksburg; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Healing Station as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the center's legacy of service to members of the Fredericksburg community in need.
