WHEREAS, on November 22, 2025, the James Wood High School girls' volleyball team of Frederick County secured its fourth consecutive state title with a victory in the Virginia High School League Class 4 state championship; and
WHEREAS, the James Wood High School Colonels defeated the Loudoun County High School Captains by a score of 3–1 to become the only team in the history of Frederick County to win four consecutive state championships in any sport; and
WHEREAS, the James Wood Colonels have compiled an impressive 108–8 record over the past four seasons, further strengthening the program's distinguished legacy and solidifying its place among the Commonwealth's premier high school athletics programs; and
WHEREAS, through countless hours of practice, discipline, and perseverance, the James Wood Colonels demonstrated exceptional skill, sportsmanship, and determination throughout the season, culminating in a championship performance on the Commonwealth's largest competitive stage; and
WHEREAS, the team's success reflects positively upon James Wood High School, Frederick County Public Schools, and the broader Winchester–Frederick County community, serving as a source of pride and inspiration for students, families, and residents alike; and
WHEREAS, by securing a fourth state championship, the James Wood Colonels have established a lasting legacy of achievement that exemplifies the values of hard work, teamwork, resilience, and excellence that high school athletics seek to promote; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the James Wood High School girls' volleyball team hereby be commended on winning its fourth consecutive Virginia High School League Class 4 state championship in 2025; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the James Wood High School girls' volleyball team as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's outstanding achievement and best wishes for continued success in future seasons.
