Commending the Brentsville High School girls' flag football team.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 16, 2026
WHEREAS, the Brentsville High School girls' flag football team of Nokesville won the inaugural Prince William County flag football tournament at their home field on November 8, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the Brentsville High School Tigers entered the tournament as the number one seed and outscored opponents 333–55, recording five shutouts and winning nine games by the mercy rule, which takes effect when a team is winning by 19 points or more in the final five minutes of the game; and
WHEREAS, in the tournament final, the Brentsville Tigers defeated the number two seed Patriot High School Pioneers by a score of 15–6; and
WHEREAS, despite having a smaller enrollment than most of the other schools in the tournament, the Brentsville Tigers fielded a squad of talented student-athletes, many of whom have played together in other sports; and
WHEREAS, the historic season was a tribute to the skill and determination of all the student-athletes, the leadership and guidance of coaches and staff, and the passionate support of family members, friends, and the entire Nokesville community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Brentsville High School girls' flag football team hereby be commended on winning the 2025 Prince William County flag football tournament; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Eugene Baltimore, head coach of the Brentsville High School girls' flag football team, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's athletic achievements and best wishes for the future.
