WHEREAS, Linwood Roy Griffin, a highly admired member of the Lynchburg community and a beloved father, died on April 11, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Linwood “Lin” Roy Griffin was born in 1952 and learned the value of hard work and responsibility at a young age while growing up on his family's farm in North Carolina; and
WHEREAS, a proud patriot, Lin Griffin served his country as a member of the United States Army National Guard; and
WHEREAS, Lin Griffin was a man of deep and abiding faith who earned a Bible studies certificate from the Liberty Bible Institute; and
WHEREAS, Lin Griffin was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees and was passionate about muscle cars; and
WHEREAS, Lin Griffin's greatest joy in life was his family, and he relished every opportunity to uplift his sons and support them in all their endeavors; he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by numerous family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Linwood Roy Griffin; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Linwood Roy Griffin as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
