Celebrating the life of William Edward Ross II.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 16, 2026
WHEREAS, William Edward Ross II, a beloved father and cherished member of the Hampton community, died on September 9, 2024; and
WHEREAS, affectionately known by family and friends as “June Bug,” William “Chuck” Edward Ross II inspired all who knew him through his kind and benevolent nature and his willingness to help others; and
WHEREAS, with great effort, dedication, and a facility for working with his hands, Chuck Ross achieved success in his career as a laborer at Howmet Aerospace in Hampton and as a maintenance worker and repairman with McDonald's; and
WHEREAS, Chuck Ross found immense joy in cooking for others and nurtured dreams of opening a food truck or restaurant to showcase his impressive culinary talents; and
WHEREAS, above all else, Chuck Ross was a caring and devoted father who did everything in his power to ensure that his daughters were provided for in all of their needs and to encourage them to pursue their dreams; and
WHEREAS, Chuck Ross will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving daughters, Brooklyn, A'jah, Haile, and Myziah; his parents, William and Sarah; his life partner, Sacha; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of William Edward Ross II, a revered member of the Hampton community whose love and generosity touched countless lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of William Edward Ross II as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
