WHEREAS, the Norfolk Alumni Chapter (NAC) Save Our Youth Foundation, Inc., an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults in South Hampton Roads, celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2025; and
WHEREAS, the NAC Save Our Youth Foundation was established on December 22, 2005, by members of the Norfolk Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, through scholarships and educational support, youth mentoring and leadership development programs, and civic engagement and service initiatives, the NAC Save Our Youth Foundation has helped an untold number of children, adults, and families thrive; and
WHEREAS, since its founding, the NAC Save Our Youth Foundation has presented more than $250,000 in scholarships and grants to support area youth and adults on their academic journeys; and
WHEREAS, the NAC Save Our Youth Foundation is generously operated by volunteers and without a salaried staff to ensure that the organization can maximize the donations and contributions it receives in the fulfillment of its mission; and
WHEREAS, 2025 also notably marked the 85th anniversary of the Norfolk Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, which has shared a close collaborative relationship with the NAC Save Our Youth Foundation from the beginning; and
WHEREAS, on October 4, 2025, the NAC Save Our Youth Foundation held its Scholarship and Awards Black Tie Gala in Chesapeake, providing the community an opportunity to reflect upon the organization's longstanding service and positive impact in South Hampton Roads and beyond; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the NAC Save Our Youth Foundation, Inc., on the occasion of its 20th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the NAC Save Our Youth Foundation, Inc., as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the organization's charitable, educational, and civic contributions to youth, families, and communities in South Hampton Roads.
