WHEREAS, the Brunswick Academy girls' volleyball team earned its second consecutive state title with a victory in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Class IV state championship in November 2025; and
WHEREAS, in the state championship final, the Brunswick Academy Vikings defeated the Gateway Christian Academy Crusaders 3–2 in five sets; and
WHEREAS, the Brunswick Vikings won the second game by a score of 25–8 and rallied from a 2–1 deficit after game three to win game four 25–17 and game five 15–8; and
WHEREAS, Ava Fadool led the Brunswick Vikings in kills with 17, Olivia Evans led the team in assists with 29, and Aubrey Corum led the team in digs with 16; and
WHEREAS, every member of the team—Bayne Carroll, Aylor Collins, Aubrey Corum, Olivia Evans, Ava Fadool, Riley Griffin, Olivia Lynch, Haley Reese, Kylie Walker, and Kate Wright—demonstrated hard work and determination throughout the 2025 campaign, which ended with an impressive 36–2 record; and
WHEREAS, the Brunswick Vikings achieved the victory with the leadership and guidance of coaches and staff and the unwavering support of family members, friends, and the entire Brunswick Academy community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Brunswick Academy girls' volleyball team for winning the 2025 Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Class IV state championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Joanne Reese, head coach of the Brunswick Academy girls' volleyball team, as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's athletic achievements and best wishes for the future.
