WHEREAS, Kathryn Holloway, M.D., a distinguished neurosurgeon, is retiring from the Richmond Veterans Affairs Medical Center after admirably serving and caring for the nation's veterans for 38 years; and
WHEREAS, Kathryn Holloway earned her medical degree from Rutgers University and completed her neurosurgery residency at Virginia Commonwealth University, during which time she rotated at the Richmond Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, where she discovered a passion for working with veterans; and
WHEREAS, over her tenure at the Richmond VA Medical Center, Kathryn Holloway has worked tirelessly to achieve the best health outcomes for her patients and has been a key proponent of innovations to improve patient care, including deep brain stimulation to treat patients with Parkinson's disease and other disorders; and
WHEREAS, Kathryn Holloway has dedicated herself to recruiting a highly competent and qualified staff at the Richmond VA Medical Center, ensuring the hospital's success for many years to come; and
WHEREAS, Kathryn Holloway has been a generous mentor to many nurse practitioners, neurosurgery residents, and other medical professionals at the Richmond VA Medical Center, and she has consistently collaborated with colleagues to enhance the quality and efficiency of patient care; and
WHEREAS, after her retirement from the Richmond VA Medical Center, Kathryn Holloway will work with VCU Health's Department of Neurosurgery, ensuring the Richmond community will continue to benefit from her exceptional leadership, dedication, and expertise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Kathryn Holloway, M.D., for her 38 years of steadfast service at the Richmond Veterans Affairs Medical Center; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Kathryn Holloway, M.D., as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for her contributions to the health and well-being of veterans in Richmond and the Commonwealth.
