WHEREAS, Angelo DiMartino, a dedicated law-enforcement officer who touched countless lives through his innovative solutions in community policing, retired as chief of the Exmore Police Department in 2025; and
WHEREAS, over the course of his 20-year career, Angelo DiMartino became a familiar face in the Exmore community through his commitment to local engagement and participation in outreach programs; and
WHEREAS, under Angelo DiMartino's leadership, the Exmore Police Department prioritized mental health crisis training and de-escalation strategies, allowing officers to better serve members of the public in need; and
WHEREAS, Angelo DiMartino also worked to enhance traffic safety and reduce speeding in high-risk areas; and
WHEREAS, Angelo DiMartino helped build strong relationships based on trust and mutual respect between the officers of the Exmore Police Department and members of the public through participation in community events, such as National Night Out, Easter egg hunts, toy drives, and the Special Olympics; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of his accomplishments, Angelo DiMartino received the 2025 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year award from the Onancock Elks Lodge; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Angelo DiMartino on the occasion of his retirement as chief of the Exmore Police Department; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Angelo DiMartino as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his achievements on behalf of the officers of the Exmore Police Department and the residents of Exmore.
