WHEREAS, John S. Cheadle, a respected public servant who touched countless lives in King George County through his integrity and commitment to excellence in all his endeavors, died on June 21, 2025; and
WHEREAS, John Cheadle earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and worked at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division before pursuing a career in real estate; he was licensed as a certified general real estate appraiser and was active as a real estate broker with Service Realty, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, John Cheadle was well-known in the real estate community for his enthusiasm and unwavering dedication to his clients; and
WHEREAS, outside of his career, John Cheadle served and represented his fellow residents of King George County as a member of the King George County Board of Supervisors, King George County Planning Commission, and King George County Equalization Board; and
WHEREAS, John Cheadle was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating; he relished every opportunity to spend time with family and friends at his beach house in Colonial Beach, and he was the heart and soul of every holiday gathering; and
WHEREAS, predeceased by his wife, Thelma, John Cheadle will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his children, Charlene, Melanie, and Mark, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of John S. Cheadle, an esteemed public servant and community leader in King George County; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of John S. Cheadle as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
