WHEREAS, Dorothy Lee Wilson, an esteemed educator, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and beloved member of the Herndon community, died on September 19, 2024; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy Wilson served at the Montessori Country School in Herndon for more than 40 years, working tirelessly to nurture her students' creativity, confidence, and passion for learning; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy Wilson dedicated herself to raising her sons and supporting them in all of their endeavors and was a fixture at their innumerable sporting events and other activities over the years; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy Wilson's interests included reading and studying English history, and her greatest joy was spending quality time with family and loved ones; and
WHEREAS, guided throughout her life by her faith, Dorothy Wilson enjoyed worship and fellowship with her community at First Baptist Church of Herndon; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy Wilson will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her children, Rick, Tim, and Greg, and their families; and by numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Dorothy Lee Wilson, a treasured member of the Herndon community whose kindness and generosity made an impact on countless lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Dorothy Lee Wilson as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for her memory.
