WHEREAS, Bill Liedtke, commissioner of the Herndon Swim League, has made enduring contributions to youth athletics in Herndon through his extraordinary service and community leadership; and
WHEREAS, Bill Liedtke was one of the Herndon Swim League's founding members in 1983 and is notably the only founding member still actively serving the league today; and
WHEREAS, Bill Liedtke has seen the Herndon Swim League grow from six teams to nine teams while fostering a love for swimming and community spirit among hundreds of families each year; and
WHEREAS, throughout his decades of involvement in the Herndon Swim League, Bill Liedtke has served as a mentor, a steward of the league's history, and a tireless advocate for the values that make youth sports meaningful; and
WHEREAS, from maintaining league records and officiating meets to providing guidance to team representatives and coaches, Bill Liedtke's dedication has left an indelible mark on generations of swimmers and their families; and
WHEREAS, Bill Liedtke's quiet leadership, thoughtful decision-making, and unwavering commitment have helped to preserve and grow the Herndon Swim League for more than 40 years; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Bill Liedtke for his legacy of service with the Herndon Swim League; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Bill Liedtke as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his contributions to youth athletics in Herndon and the Commonwealth.
