WHEREAS, Aiden Fisher, a graduate of Riverbend High School in Spotsylvania County and a linebacker with the Indiana University football team, won the National Collegiate Athletic Association's College Football Playoff National Championship on January 19, 2026, at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida; and
WHEREAS, a key member of the Indiana Hoosiers' defense, Aiden Fisher was integral to the team's perfect 16–0 season that culminated with decisive victories throughout the College Football Playoff, including the team's 27–21 win over the University of Miami Hurricanes in the title game; and
WHEREAS, Aiden Fisher's feats on the gridiron and his contributions to Indiana University's first ever national championship in football will be celebrated in Bloomington, Indiana, and beyond, for many years to come; and
WHEREAS, through hard work and determination, Aiden Fisher helped the Indiana Hoosiers reach the pinnacle of college football, bringing great pride to the Riverbend High School community and the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Aiden Fisher for winning the National Collegiate Athletic Association's 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship with the Indiana University football team; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Aiden Fisher as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his achievements and best wishes for his continued success.
