WHEREAS, the Riverside High School girls' volleyball team of Loudoun County won the Virginia High School League Class 5 state championship on November 22, 2025, at Virginia State University; and
WHEREAS, the Riverside High School Rams defeated the Kellam High School Knights of Virginia Beach three sets to one to bring home their second consecutive state championship title; and
WHEREAS, the Riverside Rams went on an impressive tear at the end of their season, winning 35 consecutive sets prior to the championship match; and
WHEREAS, the Riverside Rams' dominant campaign was a total team effort, led by Nadiya Johnson, who was named the 2025 Virginia High School League Class 5 Player of the Year; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Riverside Rams are the result of the hard work and dedication of the student-athletes, the leadership and guidance of their coaches and teachers, and the unwavering support of their families and the entire Riverside High School community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Riverside High School girls' volleyball team for winning the 2025 Virginia High School League Class 5 state championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Riverside High School girls' volleyball team as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's achievement and best wishes for the program's continued success.
