Celebrating the life of Master Sergeant Ronald Steven Scearce, USAF, Ret.

WHEREAS, Master Sergeant Ronald Steven Scearce, USAF, Ret., an honorable veteran, esteemed public servant, and cherished member of the Pittsylvania County community, died on November 6, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Scearce graduated from George Washington High School in Danville in 1981 and immediately joined the United States Air Force; and
WHEREAS, over his military career, Ronald Scearce served as a member of the U.S. Air Force Security Forces guarding nuclear intercontinental ballistic missile fields at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, as well as with U.S. Army Special Forces and in combat zones; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Scearce earned many medals and commendations for his exemplary service to the country and retired as a senior enlisted leader in the 5th Combat Communications Group at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, affectionately known as the “5th Mob”; and
WHEREAS, over his 22 years in the military and six years with a government defense contractor, Ronald Scearce saw every corner of the globe, including Germany, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Panama, and Haiti; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Scearce was a fierce advocate for conservative principles and a leading member of the Pittsylvania County Republican Committee; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Scearce supported the protection of Second Amendment rights as a life member of the National Rifle Association and an active member of the Virginia Citizens Defense League; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Scearce proudly served as the Westover District representative on the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors for eight years beginning in 2016, bringing his military experience to bear to help the county grow and develop; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Scearce will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife of 35 years, Alisa; his children, Alek, Adryenne, and Anna; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Master Sergeant Ronald Steven Scearce, USAF, Ret., a revered member of the Pittsylvania County community whose leadership, integrity, and distinguished service inspired all who knew him; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Master Sergeant Ronald Steven Scearce, USAF, Ret., as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
