Commending the Birdsong Foundation.

WHEREAS, the Birdsong Foundation supports numerous nonprofit organizations across the Commonwealth and neighboring states through grants and donations, strengthening local schools, civic programs, and agricultural initiatives; and
WHEREAS, the Birdsong Foundation honors the legacy of the Birdsong family, owners of Birdsong Peanuts, headquartered in Suffolk, which has long been one of the nation's leading peanut processors and exporters and has built a reputation for supporting peanut growers and advancing agricultural innovation; and
WHEREAS, the work of the Birdsong Foundation reflects the Birdsong family's broader philosophy that successful businesses should also serve their communities; by investing in education, agriculture, and local organizations, the Birdsong family has helped sustain both the agricultural economy and the well-being of the communities connected to it; and
WHEREAS, the Birdsong Foundation provides support for scholarships, agriculture and youth development programs, community service organizations, disaster relief and community assistance efforts, and health and wellness initiatives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That the Birdsong Foundation hereby be commended for its commitment to agriculture, education, and community service, which has benefited farmers, students, and families in the Commonwealth and beyond; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Birdsong Foundation as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for the organization's legacy of philanthropic achievements.
