Celebrating the life of Tony D. Volley.
Agreed to by the Senate, March 13, 2026
WHEREAS, Tony D. Volley, a respected member of the Henrico County community who dedicated his life to serving others, died on July 28, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Tony Volley lived in different parts of the Richmond area throughout his youth, attending George Mason Elementary School, Fairfield Elementary School, Lucille Brown Middle School, Henderson Middle School, and Armstrong High School; he continued his education at ECPI University; and
WHEREAS, Tony Volley was a trusted mentor to young people through his work with the Richmond Public Schools Exceptional Education and Student Services program; he also served the Commonwealth as a notary public at the Henrico County Circuit Court for several years; and
WHEREAS, Tony Volley received many awards and accolades for his professional achievements, including a letter from President Barack Obama in 2017; and
WHEREAS, Tony Volley was highly admired for his honesty, dependability, compassion, and willingness to help those in need, and he inspired others to become the best possible versions of themselves; and
WHEREAS, Tony Volley will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his mother, Diana Harris, and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of Virginia hereby note with great sadness the loss of Tony D. Volley; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Tony D. Volley as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's respect for his memory.
