Commending Envision Lead Grow, Inc.
Agreed to by the Senate, February 12, 2026
WHEREAS, Envision Lead Grow, Inc., a nonprofit organization that uplifts girls and women in the Hampton Roads region through entrepreneurship, leadership development, and economic empowerment, celebrates the 10th anniversary of its founding in 2026; and
WHEREAS, Envision Lead Grow was established in 2016 by Angela Reddix, who believed that every girl in her community deserved the opportunity to achieve her dreams and build a brighter future; and
WHEREAS, Envision Lead Grow initially served 416 girls in seven cities with high levels of childhood poverty, and while it currently focuses primarily on the Hampton Roads region, its programs have directly impacted the lives of more than 3,900 girls in 48 states over the past decade; and
WHEREAS, using evidence-based best practices, Envision Lead Grow provides entrepreneurial camps, mentorship opportunities, and year-round support programs to help participants turn ideas into action by strengthening their confidence, creativity, and leadership skills; and
WHEREAS, over the course of its history, Envision Lead Grow has served more than 1,000 girls through its annual five-day residential Summer Immersion Camp, launched the Family Business Program to support mother-daughter entrepreneurship and generational wealth-building, and hosted the Blossom Network Summit to help first-generation college women navigate higher education and career pathways; and
WHEREAS, Envision Lead Grow also established the ELG Sweet Boutique, a popular youth-led dessert business in Portsmouth's Olde Towne Historic District, which was recognized by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Envision Lead Grow is headquartered in the Mustard Seed Place, a 33,000-square-foot community empowerment hub that that promotes innovation and collaborative leadership and provides a welcoming space for education training, arts-based learning, special events, and other programs focused on supporting women and girls; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That Envision Lead Grow, Inc., hereby be commended for its legacy of community leadership in the Hampton Roads region on the occasion of its 10th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Angela Reddix, founder and chief executive officer of Envision Lead Grow, Inc., as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for the organization's work to advance economic empowerment and educational access for girls and women.
