Celebrating the life of Clifford H. Walls, Jr.
Agreed to by the Senate, February 26, 2026
WHEREAS, Clifford H. Walls, Jr., an honorable veteran, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and beloved member of the Williamsburg community, died on January 5, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Clifford “Cliff” Walls embraced the challenge of serving his country by joining the United States Marines and later the United States Army, with whom he completed multiple tours of duty during the Vietnam War and achieved the rank of sergeant; and
WHEREAS, for his bravery and valor in combat, Cliff Walls was presented with a number of distinguished decorations, including the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star Medal, and Good Conduct Medals; and
WHEREAS, Cliff Walls was a proud member of the 191st Boomerangs and Bounty Hunters Helicopter Company during his service, and he remained close with many of his fellow veterans for decades thereafter; and
WHEREAS, Cliff Walls enjoyed spending time on the water while fishing and boating, cheering on the Cleveland Browns, and watching NASCAR racing, but he was happiest of all when making cherished memories with family and loved ones; and
WHEREAS, Cliff Walls was a skilled mechanic and handyman who never hesitated to help in someone's time of need, whether it was a flat tire, a car that would not start, or a project around the house; and
WHEREAS, preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Yvonne, and his granddaughter Tiffany, Cliff Walls will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his children, Elizabeth, Clifford III, Tina, and Phillip, and their families; and by numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of Virginia hereby note with great sadness the loss of Clifford H. Walls, Jr., a treasured member of the Williamsburg community whose service and dedication inspired all who knew him; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Clifford H. Walls, Jr., as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's respect for his memory.
