Commending the Strasburg High School football team.
Agreed to by the Senate, January 22, 2026
WHEREAS, the Strasburg High School football team of Shenandoah County won the Virginia High School League Class 2 state championship on December 13, 2025, at Salem Stadium in Salem; and
WHEREAS, the Strasburg High School Rams defeated the Glenvar High School Highlanders of Roanoke County by a score of 49–27 to capture the program's first state championship title and finish the season with an outstanding 13–1 record; and
WHEREAS, despite going down by two touchdowns in the first quarter, the Strasburg Rams regained their form and dominated for the remainder of the contest, posting three unanswered touchdowns in both the second and third quarters; and
WHEREAS, the Strasburg Rams were carried to victory by a fierce running attack, which included the offensive line of Hutson Conrad, Jacob Britton, Gage Gutierrez, Jacob Stickley, Cooper Miller, Alexander Mudd, and Harper Sherman blocking for running backs Quincy Williams, Linkyn Bosworth, and Brady Knight; and
WHEREAS, the Strasburg Rams' triumph was a redemptive conclusion for a team that had made six appearances in the state championship game without a win, including last year's runner-up finish, and an impressive showing for head coach Tripp Lamb, who was only in his second season leading the team; and
WHEREAS, the Strasburg Rams' historic win is the result of the hard work and dedication of the student-athletes, the leadership and guidance of their coaches and teachers, and the unwavering support of their families and the entire Strasburg High School community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That the Strasburg High School football team hereby be commended for winning the 2025 Virginia High School League Class 2 state championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Tripp Lamb, head coach of the Strasburg High School football team, as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for the team's achievement and best wishes for its future success.
