AN ACT Relating to limiting the scope of cause for loss of aid; 1
and amending RCW 28B.10.281. 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:3
Sec. 1. RCW 28B.10.281 and 1969 ex.s. c 222 s 3 are each amended 4
to read as follows: 5
((Any)) A student who organizes ((and/))or participates, or both, 6
in any demonstration((, riot or other activity of which the effect is 7
to)) that interferes with or disrupt s the normal educational process 8
at ((such)) the institution ((shall not be eligible for such aid )) of 9
higher education in which the student is enrolled is not eligible for 10
aid if:11
(1) The institution of higher education determines by formal 12
finding that, in connection with the demonstration and in violation 13
of the institution's code of conduct, the student engaged in or 14
advocated for others to engage in:15
(a) Discriminatory conduct;16
(b) Harassing conduct; or17
(c) Other conduct intended to cause harm to persons; or18
(2) The student is convicted of a felony conviction in connection 19
with the demonstration for a crime involving:20
(a) Physical harm;21
