AN ACT Relating to tracking Washington application for state 1
financial aid award amounts; and adding a new section to chapter 2
28B.92 RCW. 3
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:4
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 28B.92 5
RCW to read as follows: 6
(1) Beginning with the 2025-26 academic year, the office shall 7
track the amount of state aid awarded to each student who receives 8
funds through the Washington application for state financial aid. The 9
total award amounts collected must be made publicly available on the 10
office's website. 11
(2) Beginning December 1, 2026, the office shall annually report, 12
in accordance with RCW 43.01.036, to the appropriate committees of 13
the legislature on the following data: 14
(a) The total number of students who applied for state financial 15
aid using the Washington application for state financial aid;16
(b) The total number of students who received state financial aid 17
through the Washington application for state financial aid; and18
