AN ACT Relating to modifying the fee to support family services; 1
and amending RCW 26.04.160. 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:3
Sec. 1. RCW 26.04.160 and 1997 c 58 s 909 are each amended to 4
read as follows: 5
(1) Application for a marriage license must be made and filed 6
with the appropriate county auditor upon blanks to be provided by the 7
county auditor for that purpose, which application shall be under the 8
oath of each of the applicants, and each application shall state the 9
name, address at the time of execution of application, age, social 10
security number, birthplace, whether single, widowed or divorced, and 11
whether under control of a guardian, residence during the past six 12
months: PROVIDED, That each county may require such other and further 13
information on said application as it shall deem necessary.14
(2) The county legislative authority may impose an additional fee 15
up to ((fifteen dollars )) $30 on a marriage license for the purpose 16
of funding family services such as family support centers.17
