AN ACT Relating to efficient administration of state education 1
agencies; and amending RCW 43.30.205. 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:3
Sec. 1. RCW 43.30.205 and 2010 c 189 s 1 are each amended to 4
read as follows: 5
(1) The board shall consist of six members: 6
(a) The governor or the governor's designee; 7
(b) The superintendent of public instruction or the 8
superintendent's designee; 9
(c) The commissioner; 10
(d) The director of the University of Washington school of forest 11
resources; 12
(e) The dean of the Washington State University college of 13
agricultural, human, and natural resource sciences; and14
(f) A representative of those counties that contain state 15
forestlands acquired or transferred under RCW 79.22.010, 79.22.040, 16
and 79.22.020. 17
(2)(a) The county representative on the board shall be selected 18
by the legislative authorities of those counties that contain state 19
forestlands acquired or transferred under RCW 79.22.010, 79.22.040, 20
and 79.22.020. In the selection of the county representative, each 21

participating county shall have one vote. The Washington state 1
association of counties shall convene a meeting for the purpose of 2
making the selection and shall notify the board of the selection.3
(b) The county representative must be a duly elected member of a 4
county legislative authority who shall serve a term of four years 5
unless the representative should leave office for any reason. The 6
initial term shall begin on July 1, 1986. 7
