AN ACT Relating to directing revenues from fees, charges, or 1
taxes assessed on motor vehicles based on miles traveled on the 2
highways to be used for highway purposes in accordance with the state 3
Constitution; adding a new section to chapter 46.08 RCW; and adding a 4
new section to chapter 46.17 RCW. 5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:6
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 46.08 7
RCW to read as follows: 8
Revenue collected as a charge, fee, or tax based on the miles a 9
motor vehicle travels on the highways shall be paid into the state 10
treasury and placed in a special fund to be used exclusively for 11
highway purposes, and may only be used for highway purposes permitted 12
in Article II, section 40 of the state Constitution.13
NEW SECTION. Sec. 2. A new section is added to chapter 46.17 14
RCW to read as follows: 15

motor vehicle travels on the highways shall be paid into the state 17
