AN ACT Relating to countering unpiloted aircraft systems; and 1
adding a new section to chapter 38.08 RCW. 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:3
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 38.08 4
RCW to read as follows: 5
(1) The governor, through the adjutant general, shall promulgate 6
such rules and regulations consistent with state and federal law as 7
the governor may deem necessary for: 8
(a) The organization, maintenance, and training of the organized 9
militia to counter unpiloted aircraft system threats posed to the 10
safety or security of people, critical public infrastructure, and 11
correctional facilities, and to support state, local, tribal, and 12
territorial law enforcement in countering these threats;13
(b) The detection, identification, monitoring, tracking, and 14
mitigation of unpiloted aircraft systems; and 15
(c) The acquisition, use, issue, and disposal of military 16
property related to countering unpiloted aircraft system threats.17
(2) The governor shall have power to order the organized militia 18
of Washington, or any part thereof, into active service of the state 19
to support state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement in 20
the detection, identification, monitoring, tracking, and mitigation 21
