AN ACT Relating to prohibiting certain law enforcement agencies 1
from hiring certain federal employees; adding a new section to 2
chapter 10.93 RCW; creating a new section; and providing an effective 3
date. 4
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:5
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 10.93 6
RCW to read as follows: 7
(1) A general authority Washington law enforcement agency or a 8
limited authority Washington law enforcement agency may not employ 9
any individual who was hired as a sworn officer of the United States 10
immigration and customs enforcement on or after January 20, 2025.11
(2) This section applies prospectively only and does not apply to 12
any individual hired by the agency prior to the effective date of 13
this section. 14
NEW SECTION. Sec. 2. This act takes effect October 1, 2026.15
NEW SECTION. Sec. 3. This act may be known and cited as the ICE 16
out act of 2026.17
