WHEREAS, The Washington State House of Representatives recognizes 1
the dedication, leadership, and service of those who devote their 2
careers to representing the citizens of Washington State; and3
WHEREAS, Representative Bruce Q. Chandler has honorably served 4
the people of the 15th Legislative District and the State of 5
Washington with distinction for 26 years, from 1999 to 2025; and6
WHEREAS, Representative Chandler, a businessman and orchardist, 7
brought his valuable perspective as owner and operator of Chandler 8
Ranches to the Legislature, enriching policy discussions with 9
practical knowledge of agriculture, business, project management, and 10
accurate and responsible budgeting; and 11
WHEREAS, His well-known ability to work across party lines and 12
build relationships with people with divergent views, as well as his 13
ability to be an integral part of public policy changes without 14
needing the publicity or credit, has tremendously served the people 15
of Washington state; and 16
WHEREAS, Throughout his legislative career, Representative 17
Chandler has been recognized numerous times for his commitment to 18
open government, small business, and early childhood education, 19
receiving the Key Award from the Washington Coalition for Open 20
Government, the Legislator of the Decade, and numerous Guardian of 21
Small Business awards from the National Federation of Independent 22
Business, the Cornerstone Award from the Association of Washington 23

WHEREAS, His steadfast service to the people of the Yakima Valley 3
and his thoughtful approach to the legislative process have made a 4
lasting impact on our state as well as the legislators he served 5
with; and 6
WHEREAS, Representative Chandler has balanced his long 7
legislative service with his dedication to his family;8
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives 9
recognize and honor Representative Bruce Q. Chandler for his 26 years 10
of distinguished service to the citizens of the 15th Legislative 11
District and the State of Washington, acknowledging his numerous 12
contributions to agriculture, business, early learning initiatives, 13
and responsible state budgets; and 14
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be 15
immediately transmitted by the Chief Clerk of the House of 16
Representatives to Representative Bruce Q. Chandler.17
