WHEREAS, The East County Citizens' Alliance (ECCA) was founded in 1
2022 with the mission to support the community and public 2
institutions of East Clark County; and 3
WHEREAS, The ECCA has demonstrated exceptional dedication to 4
community service through various initiatives that promote 5
environmental stewardship, community engagement, and educational 6
opportunities for youth; and 7
WHEREAS, The ECCA organized a program to clean State Route 14 in 8
Washougal and Camas, resulting in the removal of tens of thousands of 9
pounds of trash from this scenic road, significantly enhancing the 10
area's beauty and environmental health; and 11
WHEREAS, The ECCA spearheaded the idea to plant native 12
wildflowers along a stretch of State Route 14, transforming the 13
highway into a stunning corridor of local flora that benefits both 14
the environment and the community; and 15
WHEREAS, The ECCA partnered with Washougal High School to develop 16
the Community-School Partnership, a first-of-its-kind program locally 17
that matches volunteers from the community with students who are 18
struggling academically, helping them to thrive and reach their full 19
potential through mentorship, support, and encouragement; and20
WHEREAS, The ECCA's continued efforts serve as a model for 21
community-led initiatives that positively impact both the environment 22
and the individuals who live in East County, fostering a spirit of 23

Dent, Schmick, Nance, Chase, Klicker, Ryu, Burnett, Peterson, Orcutt, Kloba,
Barnard, Eslick, and Dufault

collaboration and volunteerism that strengthens the entire region; 1

WHEREAS, The ECCA's work not only improves the quality of life in 3
the region but also instills a strong sense of pride and connection 4
among community members, while creating opportunities for growth, 5
learning, and civic engagement for all involved; 6
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives 7
recognize and commend the East County Citizens' Alliance for its 8
outstanding contributions to East County, its role in fostering 9
positive change through environmental stewardship, education, and 10
volunteerism, and its dedication to creating a vibrant and healthy 11
community; and 12
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be 13
presented to the East County Citizens' Alliance as an expression of 14
gratitude and recognition for its commitment to building a better 15
future for East County and its residents. 16
