WHEREAS, Dean Brazle was born July 4, 1926, in Brewster, 1
Washington, and has lived a life marked by faith, service, hard work, 2
and devotion to family and community; and 3
WHEREAS, He was raised alongside his brother and sister, 4
attending school in Loomis, Washington, through the 6th grade, before 5
continuing his education in Molson, Washington, where he graduated on 6
May 28, 1940; and 7
WHEREAS, He answered the call to duty and honorably served the 8
United States during World War II as a Navy Seabee from 1944 to 1946, 9
supporting critical operations overseas, and returning home with 10
humility, gratitude, and deep faith; and 11
WHEREAS, He married the love of his life, Gay Miller, in 1954, 12
sharing 54 years together until her passing in 2004; and13
WHEREAS, He dedicated his working life to Washington's 14
agricultural and timber industries, raised a family, stewarded the 15
land, and faithfully served his church and neighbors in Okanogan 16
county; and 17
WHEREAS, Together with his family, he established and operated a 18
640-acre ranch near Bonaparte Mountain in Oroville, Washington, 19
raising livestock, growing a large garden, and sharing food with his 20
community; and 21

WHEREAS, Even at 100 years of age, he remains actively engaged in 1
his community, exemplifying resilience, kindness, and joy, and 2
continuing to inspire those around him; 3
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives 4
of the state of Washington honor Dean Brazle for a life well lived 5
and a century of duty, honor, service, community, and faith, and 6
extend heartfelt congratulations on his 100th birthday and gratitude 7
for his enduring contributions to our state and nation.8
