AN ACT Relating to creating an election security camera grant 1
program; and adding a new section to chapter 29A.04 RCW.2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:3
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 29A.04 4
RCW to read as follows: 5
The secretary of state shall create and administer a grant 6
program to purchase and install cameras around ballot drop boxes. 7
Only county auditors and elections directors are eligible for this 8
grant program. Grant funds must only be used for the purchase, 9
installation, or connection of cameras at ballot drop boxes. Grant 10
funds may not be used for ongoing operational costs for cameras.11
