AN ACT Relating to requisites of notice in small claims actions; 1 and amending RCW 12.40.060. 2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:3 Sec. 1. RCW 12.40.060 and 1984 c 258 s 63 are each amended to 4 read as follows: 5 The notice of claim directed to the defendant shall contain: (1) 6 The name and address of the plaintiff; (2) a brief and concise 7 statement of the nature and amount of the claim; (3) a statement 8 directing and requiring defendant to appear personally in the small 9 claims department at a time certain, which shall not be less than 10 five days from the date of service of the notice; and (4) a statement 11 advising the defendant that in case of his or her failure to appear, 12 judgment ((will)) may be given against defendant for the amount of 13 the claim. 14 --- END --- S-0281.1 SENATE BILL 5132 State of Washington 69th Legislature 2025 Regular Session By Senators Wagoner, Salomon, Dhingra, Gildon, and Harris Prefiled 01/03/25.
