AN ACT Relating to fees for charging electrical vehicles at state 1
facilities; and amending RCW 43.01.250. 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:3
Sec. 1. RCW 43.01.250 and 2015 c 225 s 59 are each amended to 4
read as follows: 5
(1) ((It is in the state's interest and to the benefit of the 6
people of the state to encourage the use of electrical vehicles in 7
order to reduce emissions and provide the public with cleaner air. )) 8
This section expressly authorizes the purchase of power at state 9
expense to recharge ((privately and )) publicly owned plug-in 10
electrical vehicles at state office locations where the vehicles are 11
used for state business ((, are commute vehicles, or where the 12
vehicles are at the state location for the purpose of conducting 13
business with the state)). 14
(2) The state may provide charging locations for electrical 15
vehicles at state office locations where privately owned vehicles may 16
purchase power from the state. Fees charged by the state must be 17
placed in the motor vehicle fund.18
(3) The director of the department of enterprise services may 19
report to the governor and the appropriate committees of the 20
legislature, as deemed necessary by the director, on the estimated 21
